Модели болидов Ferrari (Italy) 1950-2005Principal: Enzo Ferrari.Base: Maranello, Modena. Founded: 1946. The most evocative name in Grand Prix, and the only team to have contested every year of the championship, always in the traditional red colour. Enzo Ferrari was a former racer and manager of Alfa Romeo''s racing team from 1930-37 but a disagreement saw him leave in 1938. Althogh he built his first car in 1940, Enzo had agreed not to race under his own name for a further five years, so the first true Ferrari didn''t appear until 1946. Early models were known by the displacement size of each cylinder and it is fair to say that Ferrari''s priority lay with engine first and chassis second. The Prancing Horse adapted to each formula change quikly and has been a pace setter throughout most of its lifespan, teaming up with FIAT in 1969. Enzo Ferrari died in August 1988 and apart from a close championship call with Prost, overall success eluded this famous marque. With Luca Montezemolo back in charge and a design base in England, FIAT and Marlboro bought in double World Champion Michael Schumacher for 1996, as they developed their very first V10 grand prix engine. As this team Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne and Schumacher gained momentum it continued to break all records in an unprecedented run of success that simply left the others behind.
