Irishman Eddie Jordan, followed up a successful racing career as an entrant, to become a manager of promising talent. After Formula 3 from 1983 to 1987 the team progressed swiftly through Formula 3000 in 1988-90, to make an impressive impact on Formila 1 in 1991. Based at Silverstone, the team moved into its new factory just across the road from the circuit gates at the begining of 1992. After a glorious 1999 season, when the yellow cars finished third in the championship, Eddie Jordan found it harder to complete as a private owner and finally sold out to the Midland group in early 2005, with the Jordan name retained for last season.
